Our Community Vision

Rippl is built on the belief that connected neighborhoods are stronger neighborhoods.

These Community Guidelines exist to ensure that every user—whether a parent sharing local recommendations, a teenager discovering neighborhood events, or a local business owner connecting with customers—can participate in a safe, welcoming, and family-friendly environment.

Core Principles

Family First

Every piece of content should be appropriate for a child to see. When in doubt, don't post it.

Be a Good Neighbor

Be kind, respectful, and helpful. Remember that you might run into these people at the local chai shop tomorrow.

Keep It Local

Share content that's relevant to your neighborhood. Global politics and distant controversies don't belong here.

Be Authentic

Be yourself. Don't impersonate others or create fake accounts.

Protect Privacy

Respect the privacy of your neighbors. Don't share others' personal information without consent.

Content We Love to See

  • Local recommendations (restaurants, shops)
  • Neighborhood events and activities
  • Community questions and helpful answers
  • Local news that affects your neighborhood
  • Family-friendly photos and stories
  • Lost and found posts
  • Positive celebrations of local people
  • Requests for local help or services
  • Local business promotions and offers

Prohibited Content

The following content is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate removal and potential account suspension:

Violence and Safety

  • Threats of violence or harm
  • Glorifying violence
  • Instructions for illegal activities
  • Encouraging self-harm

Harassment and Hate

  • Bullying or intimidation
  • Hate speech (race, religion, etc.)
  • Coordinated attacks
  • Doxxing

Adult and Explicit Content

  • Nudity or sexually explicit material
  • Sexual solicitation
  • Graphic violence or gore
  • Drug use promotion

Child Safety

  • Sexualizing or endangering minors
  • Identifying/locating children
  • Child abuse depictions

Fraud and Deception

  • Scams and fraud
  • Impersonation
  • Deliberately false info
  • Fake reviews

Spam and Manipulation

  • Bulk posting
  • Artificial engagement
  • Pyramid schemes/MLM
  • Automated scraping

Intellectual Property

  • Posting content without rights
  • Copyright/trademark infringement

How We Moderate Content

Rippl uses a combination of technology and human review to maintain our community standards:

All content is automatically reviewed before publishing. Violations are blocked or flagged.

👮 Human Review

Trained moderators review flagged content and reports within 24 hours.

👥 Community Reports

Anonymous user reports help us identify violations quickly.

Enforcement and Consequences

Appeals Process

If you believe your content was incorrectly removed or your account was wrongly suspended:

  1. Submit an appeal through the app within 30 days of the action.
  2. Provide a clear explanation of why the decision was incorrect.
  3. Review within 7 business days.
  4. You will receive a notification with the final decision.

How to Report

If you see content that violates these guidelines:

  3. Choose the reason
  4. Add details
Note: All reports are confidential. The person being reported will not know who reported them.
