Terms of Service

01Introduction and Acceptance

Welcome to Rippl ("Platform," "Service," "we," "us," or "our"). Rippl is a family-friendly, location-based social media platform that connects you with your local community within a 3-kilometer radius of your chosen location ("Rippl Base").

By accessing or using Rippl through our mobile application, website, or any related services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Platform.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Appx Technologies LLP, a limited liability partnership incorporated under the laws of India, with its registered office in Pune, Maharashtra.

02Eligibility and Account Registration

2.1 Age Requirements

You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account and use Rippl. If you are between 13 and 18 years of age, you represent that you have obtained parental or legal guardian consent to use the Platform and agree to these Terms. Parents or guardians who register accounts for minors are responsible for monitoring their child's use of the Platform.

2.2 Account Creation

To use certain features of Rippl, you must create an account. When creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information
  • Maintain the security of your password and account
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
  • Immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account

2.3 Account Verification

You may register using Google Sign-In or email-based OTP verification. We reserve the right to verify your identity and may request additional information or documentation to confirm your eligibility to use the Platform.

03Platform Description and Features

3.1 Core Functionality

Rippl is a hyperlocal social platform that allows users to share content, connect with neighbors, and discover local businesses and events within their geographic community. Key features include:

Rippl Zone

A location-based feed where posts are visible to all users within a 3-kilometer radius of the post's origin point.

Followings Feed

Content from users you choose to follow.

My Space

A private feed for sharing content exclusively with approved friends and family.

Rippl Mechanism

The ability to reshare content, causing it to spread to new geographic zones based on the resharing user's location.

Business Pages

Profiles for local businesses to connect with nearby customers.

3.2 Rippl Base

Your "Rippl Base" is the location you select during account setup, which determines the geographic center of your Rippl Zone. You may update your Rippl Base periodically, subject to reasonable limitations to prevent abuse. Your approximate location (not precise GPS coordinates) is used to determine content visibility and community membership.

04Content Standards and Moderation

4.1 Family-Friendly Standards

Rippl is designed to be a safe, family-friendly environment. All content posted on the Platform must adhere to our Community Guidelines. By default, the Platform displays only family-friendly content suitable for all ages.

4.3 Prohibited Content

You agree not to post, share, or transmit content that:

(a) is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or invasive of another's privacy
(b) promotes violence, discrimination, or hatred against individuals or groups
(c) contains sexually explicit material or nudity
(d) infringes intellectual property rights of others
(e) contains malware, viruses, or harmful code
(f) constitutes spam, phishing, or fraudulent content
(g) impersonates another person or entity
(h) violates any applicable law or regulation
(i) is harmful to minors in any way

4.2 & 4.4 Moderation & Mature Content

All content is subject to automated AI review and human moderation. We reserve the right to remove non-compliant content without notice.

Note: Users aged 18+ may access mature content (as defined in Guidelines) via an optional PIN-protected setting.

05User Conduct and Responsibilities

When using Rippl, you agree to:

  • (a) comply with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws and regulations
  • (b) respect the rights and dignity of other users
  • (c) not engage in harassment, bullying, or intimidation of any kind
  • (d) not attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features of the Platform
  • (e) not use automated systems or software to extract data from the Platform
  • (f) not use the Platform for commercial purposes without our express written consent
  • (g) not create multiple accounts to evade bans or restrictions
  • (h) report violations of these Terms by other users

06Intellectual Property Rights

6.1 Platform Ownership

The Platform, including its design, features, functionality, content, trademarks, logos, and all related intellectual property, is owned by Appx Technologies LLP and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Platform without our express written permission.

6.2 User Content License

You retain ownership of the content you create and share on Rippl. However, by posting content on the Platform, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and display such content in connection with operating and promoting the Platform. This license continues even if you stop using our Platform, but only for content that has been shared with other users.

6.3 Copyright Complaints

If you believe that your copyrighted work has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please contact our designated copyright agent at [email protected] with a detailed description of the alleged infringement.

07Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy.

We are committed to complying with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and other applicable data protection laws in India.

08Business Accounts and Pages

Local businesses may create Business Pages on Rippl subject to additional terms. Business accounts must: (a) accurately represent the business and its location; (b) comply with all applicable advertising and consumer protection laws; (c) not engage in deceptive or misleading practices; (d) respond appropriately to customer inquiries and complaints; and (e) maintain accurate business information, including hours of operation and contact details.

We reserve the right to verify business claims and may require documentation to confirm business legitimacy. Verified businesses may receive special badges or enhanced visibility on the Platform.

09Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

9.1 Service Availability: THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO MODIFY, SUSPEND, OR DISCONTINUE THE PLATFORM AT ANY TIME WITHOUT NOTICE.
9.2 User Content Disclaimer: WE DO NOT ENDORSE, VERIFY, OR ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY CONTENT POSTED BY USERS. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU MAY BE EXPOSED TO CONTENT THAT IS INACCURATE, OFFENSIVE, OR OBJECTIONABLE. ANY RELIANCE ON USER-GENERATED CONTENT IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
9.3 Limitation of Liability: TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, APPX TECHNOLOGIES LLP AND ITS PARTNERS, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM. IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US, IF ANY, IN THE PAST TWELVE MONTHS.

10Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Appx Technologies LLP, its affiliates, and their respective partners, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your access to or use of the Platform; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your content; or (d) your violation of any rights of another person or entity.

11Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Platform immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform will immediately cease. You may also delete your account at any time through the app settings. Following termination, we will delete or anonymize your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, except where retention is required by law.

12Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on the Platform and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Platform after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the modified Terms, you must stop using the Platform.

13Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

13.1 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

13.2 Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation within 30 days, either party may initiate arbitration in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The arbitration shall be conducted in Pune, Maharashtra, in the English language. The decision of the arbitrator shall be final and binding.

13.3 Jurisdiction

Subject to the arbitration clause above, the courts of Pune, Maharashtra shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes not subject to arbitration.

14General Provisions

  • Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, constitute the entire agreement between you and Appx Technologies LLP regarding the Platform.
  • Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
  • Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.
  • Assignment: You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms without restriction.
  • Force Majeure: We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, riots, embargoes, acts of civil or military authorities, fire, floods, accidents, pandemic, strikes, or shortages of transportation, facilities, fuel, energy, labor, or materials.
